Privacy Policy
Draft — pending the owner’s review. This page is plain-English, not legal advice, and was written by the people who built the site rather than a lawyer. It describes what this store actually does, checked against the software running on it, and it should be read before it is relied on.
This page explains what STRANGEFOLK SUPPLY CO. collects, why, and who else sees it. It is short because the store does very little with your data.
What we do not do. There is no Google Analytics on this site and no TikTok tracker. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing. This is a statement about the site as it is built, not an aspiration.
Analytics. The site uses PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the United States, to count visits and to see which products people look at and buy. It is the only analytics on this site. It records the pages you visit, your browser and device type, your approximate location worked out from your IP address, and, if you buy something, the value of the order and the items in it. It does not receive your name, your address, your email address, or your payment details. We use it to understand how the store is doing, not to advertise to you, and the data is not shared with advertisers.
Advertising. The site uses the Meta Pixel, run by the company behind Facebook and Instagram, so that we can tell whether the ads we pay for actually lead to orders, and so that we can show ads to people who have visited the store. It records the pages you visit here, the products you look at, and the value and contents of an order if you buy one. It does not receive your name, your address, your email address, or your payment details. Meta may connect what it records to an account you hold with them, and their own privacy terms cover what they do with it after that. You can limit this in your browser’s tracking settings or in Meta’s own ad preferences.
When you place an order. We collect your name, email address, shipping address, and what you ordered. That information is stored in this site’s own database and is used to fulfil the order and to email you about it.
Payment. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number is entered into fields hosted by Stripe and never reaches our servers — we could not store it if we wanted to. If you choose to pay with Klarna or Affirm, Stripe passes the information those services need to offer you credit, and their own privacy terms apply to that decision.
Getting the order to you. Products are printed to order. Your name and shipping address are sent to Printify, to the print provider who makes the item, and to the carrier who delivers it. They receive what is needed to print and deliver — not your payment details.
Email. Order confirmations and shipping notices are sent through Zoho, which delivers mail on our behalf. If you sign up to the registry, we store the email address you give us on this site and use it only for the monthly log described on the form. There is no third-party mailing list, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies. The store sets functional cookies so a shopping cart and a checkout can work at all, and the site uses caching to load faster. Our analytics sets a cookie so that repeat visits from the same browser are counted as one person rather than as a new one each time. Our advertising pixel sets cookies that can be used to show you ads on Facebook and Instagram after you have left this site. If you never add anything to a cart, the store sets very little.
Where the site lives. The site is hosted by Hostinger on servers in the United States, and its domain is served through Cloudflare. Both can see the technical request information any web host sees — an IP address, a browser type, a page requested — as part of delivering the site and protecting it from abuse.
How long we keep things. Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and dealing with a problem after the fact. Registry email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices. You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will do it. Deleting an order record is not always possible straight away where tax rules require us to keep it, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Children. This store is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes. If what we do with data changes, this page changes with it. Meaningful changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
